It has been an interesting summer; cool days alternating with sweltering days, and the occasional rain. But, autumn is soon upon us, and sitting on my deck gazing into the forest behind my house, I’ve seen the first signs of its approach. Nestled among the dark green leaves of the hardwoods at the edge of the forest, I can see the first signs of red and gold as the leaves begin to turn.
I’m a bit late with this prompt on Imagine People, but I’m recovering from a hip operation, so I haven’t been operating on all cylinders of late. Heck, let’s face it, I’m way late on this one, but what the hey! Here’s my photographic take on imagine. Imagine what this couple is talking about as they sit on a hill overlooking the Cameroonian capital city, Yaoundé. The future? Their plans for the evening? The sky’s the limit.
This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is Masterpiece. Most people think of works of art or fantastic buildings when this word is brought up, but to me, nature is the source of the real masterpieces. So, I searched my nature photo files for the one that screams masterpiece to me. This desert scene, shot just east of Tucson, Arizona, shows nature at her best. Hope you agree.
This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is Companionable. I was so impressed with the photos of the photos of the dogs on the site, I decided that a photo of my ‘best friend,’ Daisy was the perfect way to show companionable. Daisy is almost 15 years old. She formerly belonged to my daughter, but when her second child was born, her small house suddenly became too small, so my wife decided that since our former dog Chong died, we could use another ‘child’ around the house. I think it was mainly to give me an excuse to get up every morning and take her for her morning constitutional. Despite her age, Daisy is a lot like a puppy, and looks forward to our morning walk, or just sitting on the deck with me as I write in my journals and stare at me with her soulful brown eyes.
Actually, this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is the world through my eyes, but you’ll have to use your eyes and your brain to determine what my view of the world is.
Okay, I’m a little late – actually, a lot late – with this challenge. This week’s photo challenge is curves. Check it out, and if you’ve a mind to, give it a shot (no pun intended). I went through my thousands of digital photos trying to find the one that best illustrates the theme. I couldn’t make up my mind, so I decided to go with more than one. I’m not sure if you agree with me, but here’s my offerings:
The photo challenge this week is Earth. Go here and check it out, and think about participating. When I think earth, I think solidity and permanence. I wonder if my photos convey that. I leave it to readers to decide whether that’s the case.
Check out this week’s fun foto challenge at this link. Fire is one of the five Chinese elements, and, without it life couldn’t exist. Here are my interpretations of fire; and, notice that sometimes it’s implied rather than specified.
