Day: June 7, 2016
It starts with a jogger, killed and buried in a shallow grave in a local park. Then, another woman is killed and there’s a hint that she received notice of her death just minutes before it occurred. Detective Mitchell Lonnie and his partner, Jacob Cooper soon realize that there’s a serial killer loose in their town, and his pace is accelerating. It becomes personal for Lonnie when his sister, a uniformed cop, becomes involved.
The action is nonstop and the drama is as tight as a well-tuned violin string in Mike Omer’s Spider’s Web as Lonnie and Cooper race against time to catch a methodical, determined killer who seems to get off on taunting them with his clues.
Despite a bit of head hopping among characters that can cause a little confusion, but only temporarily, this is a pretty good mystery story. I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.
I give it three and a half stars.
